sometimes keeping a computer up to date doesn’t happen. we are busy, using the computer to do the things we like to do, and that job gets set aside to do later. and after a certain point, it can cause some problems.

updating your computer can be scary – especially a bios firmware update. God forbid there is a power outage during the middle of a firmware update. i has been said to be quite concerning and difficult to remedy. never update your firmware if there is concerns with a power outage (storms, etc.)

sometimes something can happen that causes a “blue screen of death”. srttrail.txt is one of those scary error messages that can keep a computer in a loop that does not resolve.

sometimes you get a windows stopcode with a frown face.
