got in a damaged micro SD card – looking internally to see if there was an opportunity to recover the data. this involves carefully removing small layers at a time. this type of card is also known as a monolith. #2001aspaceodyssey

the chip inside was cracked right down the middle and data recovery was not possible.

all in all, all i got was some additional experience and some great photos.

and this stuff is just fascinating to me anyway. it’s amazing how so much data could be held on such a small device reliably that is mass produced that is this small. just incredibly mind boggling to me. i do some small stuff, but this really is a different world when is gets this tiny.
